To open a charter school for the upcoming year, a Letter of Intent must be submitted by January 1, 2026. We initially delivered our Letter of Intent to Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS) on October 9, 2025. An addendum to the Letter of Intent was submitted on December 22, 2025, following updates to the charter school policy by CCPS.
The next step requires us to submit a Prospectus to the Cecil County Public Schools Board of Education by March 15, 2026. We completed our Prospectus and delivered it to CCPS on Thursday, March 12, 2026. CCPS is now reviewing the document and will provide feedback to the Board of Directors for Cecil Classical Charter School.
Next on our agenda is the Application to open the charter school. This application must be submitted to both the Board of Education and the Charter Review Board for CCPS by May 15, 2026. The Charter Review Board has 120 days to review our application and make a recommendation to the Board of Education regarding its approval or denial. The application is in process and will be completed by April 30, 2026, to allow for an early May submission to CCPS.
